Eastern European & Central Asian Student Association

Mission

The Eastern European & Central Asian Student Association brings together and represents students from Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as well as students who speak Eastern European/Central Asian languages and who have an interest in the regions' histories, cultures and customs. We hope to create a community for people from these regions and share and celebrate our cultures with the broader CMC community.

Our club’s membership is open to all CMC students from all grades, who are either from Eastern European or Central Asian countries, or who have a strong interest in learning the languages, cultures, and histories of the regions. There is no application process, all that is required is an email to the president of the club stating a student’s interest in becoming a General Member of EECASA.

We organize non-compulsory, monthly events both on CMC's campus and around the Los Angeles area. These events can be proposed and organized by any member of the club, with support from the club leadership, as long as the events highlights, celebrates, or educates club members on a cultural or historic aspect of Eastern Europe or Central Asia. Past events have included movie nights, community cooking events, restaurant trips, karaoke open-mic nights, and arts and crafts making!
