Black Student Association (BSA)
Mission
We are the Black Student Association (BSA). We strive to create a safe space for Black students of CMC and their allies to learn, grow, and implement positive change together. We recognize that for many Black students, the CMC environment can be difficult to navigate due to a lack of focus on people of color and their contributions to general knowledge. We work to supplement this environment with culturally relevant activities and opportunities for Black and brown students of color at CMC. Our goals are to create a space for dialogue and experiential learning among black and brown students of color at CMC as well as to create a scholarship that benefits low-income black and brown students of color, which can be awarded annually, to help with the cost of attending such a prestigious institution. We welcome CMC students of all ethnicities and backgrounds who are eager to engage in dialogue and community building activities to benefit the Black community while providing a space to learn, share life experiences, and fellowship with black and brown students of color.
