Women and Gender Leadership FUnd

This Women and Gender Leadership Fund may provide support for individuals or student organizations who demonstrate a commitment to promoting awareness and leadership. This fund may sponsor learning opportunities that engage the community on issues of gender or facilitate dialogues and programs. The fund also supports collaborative research focused on gender empowerment along with conferences prioritizing the applied understanding of gender issues. 

Fund Requirements / Eligibility: The applicant(s) must
demonstrate a willingness to think critically about gender issues
and priority will be given to proposals representing multiple identity
groups. The applicant(s) must also include a plan for how
knowledge and experience gained through proposed activities will
benefit the greater College community.

Amounts: Funding is capped at $1500 for individual projects and $3000 for group projects. 

Annual Deadline: The fall deadline is October 1 and Spring deadline is January 30 

Examples of projects: In the past years this fund has sponsored individuals to attend the Own It Women's Leadership Summit and the 61st United Nations Commission on the Statue of Women (CSW). The CMS basketball team received funding for an overnight retreat to discuss identity as a female student athlete on college campuses. Additionally, the fund sponsored a body positivity week that over fifty students participated in.
